The axial flow check valve uses a streamlined disc guided by a center spindle and held against forward flow by a tuned disc spring. On pump shutdown or flow reversal, the disc snaps shut within milliseconds, eliminating water hammer and reverse flow damage.
The straight-through flow path provides one of the lowest pressure losses among non-return valves, making it the preferred choice for large-diameter water mains, pump-discharge lines, and compressor stations.
