The hard-seated fixed ball valve uses a two-piece body construction with the ball locked in position by upper and lower trunnions. This configuration supports higher differential pressure than floating-ball designs and is preferred for abrasive or high-temperature service where soft seats would fail quickly.
The metal-to-metal seat (Stellite- or tungsten carbide-overlaid) maintains tight shutoff even after repeated thermal cycling, making the valve an ideal choice for high-temperature isolation.
